Qi Wireless Charging Guide
Qi wireless charging lets a compatible phone or device charge on a charging pad, stand, or dock without plugging a cable directly into the device.
What Qi wireless charging does
A Qi charger transfers power over a short distance between the charger and a compatible device. It is useful on desks, bedside tables, counters, and in some cars because you can place the device down to charge and lift it up without connecting and disconnecting a cable each time.
Before you buy a wireless charger
Check the exact model of your phone or device before buying. A product family name is not always enough, because charging support can vary between model years, regional versions, and special editions.
- Confirm that your device supports Qi wireless charging.
- Check the charging wattage your device can safely use.
- Use a suitable power adapter for the charger.
- Remove thick, metal, magnetic, wallet, or battery cases if charging is unreliable.
- Follow the device manufacturer's charging and safety instructions.

Charging speed and expectations
